Northern Premier Division
Nottingham Forest are the new leaders of the
Northern Premier Division, and the last remaining
unbeaten team, following their 7-0 victory over
Loughborough Students on Sunday. Forest never looked back after taking a second
minute lead through Rosie Axten, with Hayley James, Charlotte Greengrass and Georgia
Hewitt adding further goals before half time. After the break, both Axten and Hewitt
completed their doubles, with Katie Middleton also getting on the scoresheet.
Derby County are up into second, three points off the pace, after winning 5-1 away
to Sheffield FC. Jodie Michalska opened the scoring just before the half hour, with Emily
Joyce quickly adding a second, and although Paige Crossman reduced the arrears for
Sheffield, Callan Barber restored the two-goal advantage ahead of the break. After the break,
Megan Tinsley made it four, and Barber wrapped matters up with her second.
A 4-2 victory over Middlesbrough has taken Huddersfield Town into the top
three for the first time this season. Town led at the break through a Kate Mallin double and
they added further goals in the second half from Brittany Sanderson and Sarah Danby, with
Anna Young and Tyler Dodds replying.
Fylde Women had started the day on top of the table but went down to their first
defeat, beaten 3-1 by Sunderland. Grace McCatty put Sunderland ahead after two minutes
and after Helen Seed had equalised for the Coasters, goals in the last five minutes from Neve
Herron and Holly Manders secured the points for the Wearsiders.
West Bromwich Albion and Stoke City occupy the next two positions after their
meeting ended in a 3-2 victory for Stoke. Elizabeth Steele netted twice for Stoke and Alison
Hall was also on target, with Albion's replies coming from Trina Greaves and Jessica Davies.
Southern Premier Division
Oxford Utd have gone to the top of the table on goal difference by scoring seven times
without reply away to Hounslow Women. Taome Oliver put the U's in front after five
minutes, with Carly Johns making it two and Oliver netting her second on the stroke of half
time. Emily Allen contributed a second half brace and Oxford added further goals from
Kayleigh Hines and Abbie Bensted to round off a fourth straight win.
Watford's winning start to the season was brought to halt when they were beaten
1-0 by Crawley Wasps. Na0mi Cole scored the only goal of the game, midway through the
second half, to give Crawley a result which takes them into fourth place.
Milton Keynes Dons have got off to a good start and are in third place after
running out 5-0 winners over Gillingham. Cherrelle Albert was on target twice for the Dons
along with Hannah Barrett, Victoria Barrett and Sasha Newsome.
Portsmouth follow on just behind the leading sides after matching Oxford by also
notching up a 7-0 victory, against Plymouth Argyle. Becki Bath led the scoring for Pompey
with a hat-trick whilst Jade Widdows and Danielle Rowe both weighed in with doubles.
Yeovil Utd went down to their first defeat of the season, 3-2 to Cardiff City
Ladies who made it two wins out of two. Kylie Nolan kept up her good start to the campaign
for Cardiff by scoring twice and Cori Williams added the other, whilst the home side's replies
came from Kelly Aldridge and Laura Williams.
Keynsham Town also notched up a 3-2 victory away from home, against
Chichester & Selsey. Robyn Pinder, Corinne Yorston and Jade Munro scored a goal apiece
for Keynsham, with Chi replying through Sharna Capel-Watson and Natasha Wild.
Division One North
Chester-le-Street Town are continuing to set the early pace in the division and stay two
points ahead after running out 6-1 victors against Durham Cestria. Nichole Havery netted
