Sam Kerr scored four times as Chelsea produced an 8-0 victory over Albanian Champions
Vllaznia at Kingsmeadow in the UEFA Women’s Champions League to go top of Group A on
Wednesday evening.
Kerr gave the Blues a deserved lead just ten minutes into the game, smashing the ball
home from a reverse pass by Pernille Harder. The Blues then cemented their lead with two
quickfire goals ahead of half time as Kerr scored her second, before Harder added a third
before the break.
Chelsea continued to dominate and Kerr netted her hat-trick goal just before the hour
mark, heading home from a Guro Reiten
corner. The striker went on to fire home GROUP A P W D L F A Pts GD

Building on their victory over Lyon in the group opener, Arsenal started the match in
confident mood but it wasn’t until just before half time that the deadlock was broken, Jordan
Nobbs opening the scoring with a first time volley which crashed off the underside of the bar
and bounced over the line.
Before the Swiss side could recover, Arsenal capitalised fully and doubled their lead
ahead of the interval. Mwa Iwabuchi worked herself some space in the area and crossed for the
oncoming Lina Hurtig to head home her first goal for the Gunners.
To their credit, Zurich pressed for a way back into the game during the second half and
they gave themselves hope through a smart finish from Seraina Piubel.
Three minutes later though, Arsenal regained their two-goal advantage with what proved
to be a decisive third goal. Stina Blackstenius was sent through on goal and after her initial shot
was blocked, Hurtig followed up to tuck home the rebound and seal a second straight win for
her side.
Arsenal now find themselves in a similar position to Chelsea, with a lead of two points at
the top of the group, after Juventus and Lyon finished level at 1-1 in the other match.
The 2022-23 Sky Sports Cup Final will be played at Tynecastle Park on Sunday 11th December.
The match will also be exclusively live on Sky Sports, the first SWPL game to be broadcast on
the channel.
The venue has hosted the two most recent Scottish Women’s Cup Finals, providing an
outstanding backdrop for the clubs, players, and fans as well as producing some historic
moments.
