Loughborough staged a fine comeback, Ella Powell and Katie Middleton both scoring to
earn them a share of the spoils.
Liverpool Feds picked up their second victory of the season, 2-1 away to
Boldmere St Michaels. The game was goalless at half time but second half strikes from
Paige Cole and Katie Thomas earned the Feds the points, Jade Formaston netting a late
consolation for the home side.
Southern Premier Division
Watford continued to set the pace at the top of the table with a 4-0 victory away to
London Bees. Flo Fyfe gave them a first half lead and after the break, Poppy Wilson and
Gemma Davison added further goals before Helen Ward scored a late penalty.
Oxford Utd remain close at hand in second after they beat third placed
Portsmouth 2-0. Carly Johns settled matters in the U's favour by scoring a goal in each
half.
Ipswich Town maintained their rise up the table and made it four wins in five
games as they defeated Milton Keynes Dons 5-1. Bonnie Horwood was on target twice
for the Tractor Girls along with Freya Godfrey, Natasha Thomas and Abigail Lafayette,
whilst the Dons' consolation came from Leoni Miceli.
Billericay Town made sure that the long journey to Plymouth Argyle was a
worthwhile one, returning with a 1-0 victory which keeps them in fifth place. Jay Blackie
scored the only goal of the game as Billericay continue to settle in well after promotion.
The other promoted side, Cheltenham Town, follow on after they also won 1-0 on
their travels, at Crawley Wasps. Henna Butcher was on target, early in the second half,
to hand Cheltenham their fourth victory of the season.
A second victory on the trot has lifted Gillingham away from any immediate danger
and into a mid-table position. Phoebe Leitch scored the game's only goal, midway through
the first half, as the Gills notched up a 1-0 success away to Bridgwater Utd.
Reserve Section round-up...
Northern Division leaders Durham Cestria did not have a game on Sunday and they have
been caught by Liverpool Feds after they defeated Stockport County 3-2. Carina
Mendes, Millie Williams and Fatima Santos Costa were all on target for the Feds, with Ella
Ritchie netting twice in reply. Katie Astle scored twice and Sandra Martins the other as
Leeds Utd won 3-0 against Bradford City to go third, ahead of Middlesbrough who
were held to a goalless draw by Chorley. Newcastle Utd meanwhile defeated Hull City
2-1 with Georgina Spraggon scoring both goals.
West Bromwich Albion are the new leaders of the Midland Division after scoring
eight times without reply past Doncaster Rovers Belles. Olivia Stubbs hit a hat-trick
and Rameyah Farquharson added two, with one each from Maia Clark, Laura Dodwell and
Una Lue. Isabel Sheridan was another hat-trick scorer, along with Laura Monk, Iesha
Rollins and Paris Mallon as Derby County won 6-2 at Loughborough Lightning to go
third. Sporting Khalsa ran out 9-2 winners over Lincoln City, Rebecca Gill-Parsons
scoring a hat-trick with Neve Harvey (2), Abby White (2), Heden M'Barindi and Morgan
Reeves.
Milton Keynes Dons made it five wins out of five at the top of the South East &
Central Division when beating Stevenage Women 8-1. Gabriella Maia led the scoring
with a four-goal haul, Freya Stitchbury added a double and there was one apiece from Ranai
Bennett and Annaliese Jacovides. The Dons head the table by three points from Oxford
Utd, who won 3-0 against London Seaward thanks to Erin Hartigan, Oana-Elena
Negrea and Amy Woodhead. Isabelle Thorogood (2) and Ruby Kilden accounted for the
goals as Hashtag Utd won 3-2 at AFC Wimbledon and Watford defeated Cambridge
Utd 3-0 with Kayra Karakus, Lily Dolling and Lauren Cullum all on the scoresheet.
