Danske Bank NI Women’s Premiership

       The top two continued their fast start to the new season and Cliftonville Ladies hold on
       to the leadership after beating Crusaders Strikers 4-1. Amy McGivern did give Crusaders
       a  second  minute  lead  but  a  goal  in  each  half  from  Caitlin  McGuinness,  plus  a  Marissa
       Callaghan penalty and late Toni-Leigh Finnegan strike, gave Cliftonville a third straight win.
           Glentoran  also  maintained  their  100%  start  as  they  won  7-1  against  local  rivals
       Linfield. Casey Howe and Lauren Wade each scored twice for the Glens and they were
       joined on the scoresheet by Makyla Mulholland, Jessica Foy and Nadene Caldwell, whilst
       Linfield’s second half consolation came from Rachel McConnell.
           Sion Swifts are heading the teams chasing after the top two, moving themselves up
       to  third  by  beating  Mid  Ulster  Ladies  3-0.  Cora  Chambers  put  Sion  in  front  midway
       through  the  first  half  and  Aime  Durn  made  it  two  ahead  of  half  time,  before  Naomi
       McLaughlin  rounded  off  the  scoring

       season.  In  an  evenly  contested  match,  MID ULSTER LADIES  3  0  0  3  1  12  0  -11
       the best chance of the encounter came Cliftonville 4 Crusaders 1; Derry 0 Lisburn 0; Glentoran 7 Linfield 1;
       four  minutes  from  time  as  Lisburn’s Sion 3 Mid Ulster 0.
       Jessica  Hall  saw  her  penalty  saved  by
       Candystripes goalkeeper Clare Friel.

       Durham FA girls football event
       Following interest received, the Durham CFA are delighted to announce that we will be
       organising a Durham FA Girls Football event to be held over the summer holidays on
       Wednesday 3rd, Thursday 4th and Friday 5th August 2022.
           This is an ideal opportunity to introduce your new Under 7's to organised games (All
       players must be at least 6) as well as Under 9's playing in the 7v7 format for the first time.
       For Under 8's and Under 10's this is a brilliant opportunity to play in friendly fixtures in a
       safe and controlled environment in preparation for the new season. AGE GROUPS AS PER
       SEASON 2022-23.
           The Under 7's and Under 8's (5v5) will kick off on Wednesday 3rd August  with the
       under 7's games commencing at 10am and finishing at approximately 12noon. The Under
       8's will begin their fixtures at 1pm finishing at approximately 3pm.
           The  Under  9's  (7v7)  will  play  on  Thursday  4th  August  2022  with  fixtures
       commencing at 10am and finishing at approximately 1pm.
           The  Under  10's  (7v7)  will  play  on  Friday  5th  August  2022  with  the  games
       commencing at 10am and finishing at approximately 1pm.
           Entry fee for U7's & U8's is £20 per team with the U9's & U10's paying £25 per team.
       Entries are strictly limited to 12 teams per age group.
           The focus of this event is for girls to enjoy playing football. Therefore there will be no
       overall winners, no finals arranged and no results recorded however ALL players who
       compete will be given a medal of participation.
