Duo sign new Arsenal deals

Arsenal are delighted to confirm that Steph Catley and Lotte Wubben-Moy have agreed new
       deals with the club.
Steph joined the Gunners in 2020, making her debut from the bench in our UEFA
Women’s Champions League quarter-final against Paris Saint-Germain in August 2020.
The 28-year-old Australian international has since gone on to make 41 appearances for
the club, scoring one goal – a magnificent free kick against HB Koge in the Champions
       League in November 2021.
Steph told www.arsenal.com: “It feels absolutely incredible. I’ve been here for two years
now and I’ve made some incredible friendships and I feel right at home here. I’ve been
through some tough times and some great times and I feel that I’m growing so much as a
person and as a player. I’m just happy to call Arsenal home for another few years.”
Born in London, 23-year-old centre-back and lifelong Arsenal fan Lotte has become an
important member of our squad since returning to the club in 2020. Lotte rose through our
youth academy before making her senior debut in 2015 at the age of 16, before a stint in the
USA playing college football with the North Carolina Tar Heels.
Her ‘second debut’ came on September 26 2020, coming on as a substitute against
Tottenham Hotspur during our 4-0 win at Meadow Park. Lotte has since made a total of 61
appearances for the club, scoring five goals. Since rejoining, Lotte has gone on to establish
herself as a senior England international, winning seven caps for her country.
As part of her new deal, Lotte has also committed to working closely with Arsenal in the
Community over the coming years to give back to the local area where she grew up and still
lives. Find out more about Lotte's community commitment here.
“It feels amazing,” said Lotte to arsenal.com. “This contract means so much more to me
and to my family than just it being a football contract. It’s a commitment to the club and it’s
a commitment to Arsenal, the community that it’s active in and to my life as a whole, because
that’s what Arsenal is – it’s my life.”
Head Coach Jonas Eidevall told arsenal.com: “Steph is one of the best players in the
world in her position, so it’s fantastic news that she has signed a new contract. She’s played
an integral role this season for us, making big contributions in both defence and attack, so
we’re very pleased that she will be staying with us for the coming years.
“Lotte has proven herself as an important player for us this season and so I’m delighted
that she has extended her stay with the club. She is one of the most exciting young defenders
in English football and I believe she has all the tools to continue her progression here at
       Arsenal.”
“We’re delighted that Lotte and Steph have committed their futures to the club,” added
Head of Women’s Football Clare Wheatley. “Lotte knows this club inside out and we are all
proud to see her establishing herself for both club and country. Her progression since
rejoining us in 2020 has been impressive and we look forward to watching her continue to
develop in the years to come.
“Steph is in the prime of her career and has proven herself to be a key player for us since
joining back in 2020. We look forward to seeing what we can achieve together in the future.”
Arsenal have also confirmed that Tobin Heath has been released early from her contract
with the club by mutual agreement.
Tobin sustained a minor hamstring injury in training which ruled her out of their
remaining Barclays FA Women’s Super League matches over the next two weeks.
With Tobin’s one-year contract ending at the end of the 2021-22 season, it has been
agreed by all parties for Tobin to be released early to enable her to travel back to the USA and
focus on her rehabilitation with her personal medical team.
