Millbrook make instant impact
Millbrook FC Women made their first steps last summer as a newly formed team and their first
campaign could hardly have gone better, winning the Hampshire County Women’s League
Division Five title and only losing one match all season.
Millbrook’s first competitive league match finished in a 3-1 victory away to NMO Ladies and
they continued their good start, scoring thirteen times in their fourth match against Rushmoor
Community Development. Although their six match unbeaten run came to an end at
Southampton University, they got themselves back on track quickly but faced a tough finish to
the season with their last two matches being against teams who could also have won the league.
The first of those, against Aldershot Boys & Girls, ended in a 4-2 win, leaving the Dockers
needing to avoid defeat in their return meeting with Southampton University, and a goal from
Cleo Rawlings earned them a 1-1 draw which confirmed them as Champions.
Millbrook are managed by Mark McWilliams and Gee Yeandle, with Grace Watson as
captain. Cleo Rawlings finished as leading goalscorer with 23 goals in only six appearances,
whilst the likes of Bethany Tidd, Chelsea Smith and Adele Yeandle are also regulars on the
scoresheet.
