League Cup
There was late drama at Derby County where a late, late
winner gave visitors Burnley FC Women a 3-2 victory.
Burnley twice took the lead through Sarah Greenhalgh and
Amaya Coleman-Evans, with Derby hitting back on each
occasion with equalisers from Rebecca McGrother and Jessica Camwell, before Evie Priestley scored
the winner for the Clarets deep into injury time.
Huddersfield Town have a good record in the Cups in recent seasons and they remain in
the running this time around, thanks to a 6-1 victory away to Middlesbrough. Laura Elford and
Laura Hulme each scored twice for Town along with Katie Anderson and Brittany Sanderson, whilst
'Boro's consolation came from Jessica Dawson.
Extra time was required at Stoke City, where visitors Nottingham Forest advanced with a
4-2 victory. Substitutes Rosetta Taylor and Niamh Reynolds scored the goals for Forest during the
extra period, to add to earlier strikes from Charlotte Greengrass and Yasmin Mosby, with Roisin
Kivel and Sarah Woodbyrne on target for Stoke.
Wolverhampton Wanderers meanwhile eased through a difficult looking tie against
Durham Cestria with a 7-0 victory. Amber Hughes and Destiney Toussaint gave Wolves a flying
start with goals inside the opening twenty minutes and Hughes went on to score a hat-trick, with Maz
Gauntlett, Alisha Miller and Marianne Taho adding the others.
Milton Keynes Dons made sure that the long journey to Exeter City was a successful one,
returning with a 2-0 win under their belts , courtesy of goals from Mollie Coupar and Angelina Nixon.
Plymouth Argyle ran out 4-0 winners in the delayed First Round tie at London Seaward,
to book themselves a home tie with Cardiff City Ladies. Georgia Wilson got Argyle off to a great
start with two goals in the opening quarter and they went on to add further goals in the second half
through Kaitlyn Morgan-Hemmens and Amber Pollock.
       League Plate
Leeds Utd claimed a higher division scalp when they won 2-1 against West Bromwich Albion.
Macy Ellis was the heroine for Leeds as she scored both goals, with Albion's reply coming from
       Mariam Mahmood.
Fylde Women booked their place in the Third Round with a penalty shootout victory against
Boldmere St Michaels, after the teams had shared a 3-3 draw. Faye McCoy netted twice and Amy
Hughes the other for the Coasters, whilst Boldmere's scorers were Jade Formaston, Trina Greaves
       and Katie George.
Cheltenham Town made it to the semi finals last season and are one stage away this time
around after winning 4-2 away to Cambridge Utd. Emily Owen was on target twice for Cheltenham
along with Emma Congrave and Henna Butcher, whilst Sarah Wiltshire netted twice in reply.
Hull City progressed to the last eight on the back of a 3-2 victory at Northampton Town.
This does not tell the whole story of the game though as Northampton had led by two goals at half
time thanks to Kim Farrow and Beth Artemiou but after the break, Laura Bartup halved the deficit
from the penalty spot before Rachael Ackroyd and Bartup added further goals to turn the match
       around in Hull's favour.
Stourbridge marched through as they won 4-0 at Peterborough Utd, Hannah Fishwick
putting them ahead after seventeen minutes before a quickfire double from Alex Nicklin early in the
second half, and Keira-Cheynelle Scarlett rounded off the scoring for the Glassgirls late on.
Queen's Park Rangers came from behind to win their much delayed tie 3-2 against
Portishead Town and they will travel away to Billericay Town in the Second Round. Rhian
Robbins gave Portishead a fifth minute lead which was cancelled out by Kasha Petit, before the
visitors went back in front on the half hour through Ellie Strippel. Amelia Cutler levelled things again
early in the second half, with Ellen Wardlaw scoring the winner for Rangers twenty minutes from
