MR: I think you could see from early on in the season how close us, Wolves and Forest were
going to be. It's been the same all the way through, no team has managed to really pull
away from any other. It makes for a really interesting end to the season.
WSS: Were you always confident of a title challenge from the start of the
season or has the team exceeded pre-season expectations?
MR: With the support that we're getting from the club and the fans at Burnley, I think it'd
be unfair of me to say that we didn't want to win the league at the beginning of the season.
Of course we did, but everyone does. It's about trying to turn those ambitions into reality.
There's still a long, long way to go before we can even think about that happening. I don't
think we've exceeded our expectations, not yet anyway.
WSS: With the men's team seemingly on the verge of winning the
Championship, how confident is the team that you can go on and emulate
       them?
MR: It could turn out to be a landmark season for the club on both fronts, but neither side
have completed their task yet or fulfilled their ambitions. Both of us are hungry to go and
get the job done, and if both of us could then it'd be fantastic. It's cliche, but it's the same for
both sides in taking it game by game.
WSS: If you were able to get there though, how much would Championship
football mean to Burnley, and do you think this team can go on to better
       things in the future?
MR: I know it would mean a lot both in and out of the club. As I mentioned before, the
support we get is really good, and I don't think many teams at our level get that level of
support so we are really fortunate. It's something that none of us take for granted, and we
just want to do our bit on the pitch to try and repay that backing. There's no doubt within
our group that we're only going to continue getting stronger, regardless of what happens
between now and the end of the season.
