Blackburn Community SC and Darwen FC Women also finished with honours even
at 1-1.
Division One North leaders Haslingden drew 1-1 with third placed Accrington
Stanley and their lead has been trimmed to five points by Blackpool, who won 1-0 at
Chorley Women Development with a second half goal from Alice Earnshaw. Preston
North End meanwhile moved up into fourth place and caught up ground on some of the
teams above them when scoring seven times without reply against local rivals Sir Tom
Finney.
Chloe Greenall, Sophie Charlton and Rhia Dickins were all on the scoresheet as Division
One South leaders Bury AFC Women won 3-0 away to BRNESC Ladies. The win keeps
them three points ahead of Runcorn Linnets who defeated Altrincham 4-0.
Wythenshawe Amateurs moved themselves out of the bottom two when sharing a 2-2
draw with fifth placed Northwich Vixens.
South West League
Bristol Rovers have set the target in the Premier Division, completing their season with a
2-0 victory over Bishop's Lydeard. Abi Todd scored both goals for Rovers, who must wait
and see if their points tally will now be overhauled by Torquay Utd, who require four points
from their final two games and kept themselves on course by beating Sherborne Town 2-1.
In front of a good crowd at Plainmoor, Esme Kilburn-Thompson and Connie Pengelly were
on target for Torquay, with Elisha Jacks replying.
One match was played in the Eastern Division, Paulton Rovers moving themselves
back into the top half of the table after beating Middlezoy Rovers 1-0. Freya Smith scored
the only goal of the game to earn Paulton a seventh win in nine matches in all competitions.
Southern Region League
Ascot Utd are all but assured of the runners-up spot in the Premier Division after
Bournemouth Sports were held to a 1-1 draw by Eastleigh. Sarah Bradshaw gave
Eastleigh a first half lead, which held on to until injury time when Hollie Shaw grabbed a last
gasp equaliser. This means that only a calamitous defeat for Ascot will prevent them from
finishing in second place.
In Division One South, AFC Stoneham picked up one of the wins they need in order
to lift the title and are one point off the pace following their 2-0 win away to Rushmoor
Community.
Badshot Lea are still in the running for two trophies this season and they kept those
hopes alive by reaching the semi finals of the Chairman's Cup after beating Kidlington
Youth on a penalty shootout, after the teams had finished level at 1-1. Abigail Haynes had
netted for Kidlington, with Nicola Moore replying.
West Midlands League
Sutton Coldfield Town are keeping up the pace at the top of the Premier Division, a late
goal from Amelia Lightfoot giving them a 1-0 victory over Crusaders which keep them four
points ahead of Kidderminster Harriers, who defeated Lichfield City 4-0. Dani Selmes
netted twice along with Macy Fox and Bailey-Raine Hodge to complete a quickfire double by
the Harriers over their opponents. Sunya Salim was on target for Lye Town as they shared
a 1-1 draw with third placed Shrewsbury Town, whose scorer was Libby Veitch.
Division One North leaders Shifnal Town did not play on Sunday but there was not
too much damage to their lead, with nearest rivals Walsall Wood drawing 2-2 with
Tamworth. Megan Chapman and Catherine Harris scored the goals for Tamworth to peg
back Wood, who netted through Leanne Johnson and Rosie Hargraves. Megan Jones netted
a hat-trick along with Abi Beady and Jaime Duggan as AFC Telford Utd defeated
Darlaston Town 5-0 to go third, whilst Karen Clough found the net six times for Lichfield
City Res in their victory against Wyrley Ladies. Amy Rollason contributed a hat-trick and
