Our September Pastoral Letter
is provided by Maureen Marriott
a Member of the Swanage Church
As we approach Autumn this September, in a changeable year, the
past few months press upon us with all its problems and hopes for
the future.
Many of us have experienced change in different ways through the
year – some life changing. We have had to learn how to live in
these times as our circumstances alter.
We have seen changes in people’s attitudes to others - those
bringing people together in the face of tragedy and those causing
division and hatred or misunderstandings. Thank God many
people are willing to remember to ‘love their neighbour’, as our Lord
has taught us.
As we celebrate a time of Harvest this month we give thanks for
God’s provision for our needs, and pray that we will share this
provision with those who are struggling to survive on little food. The
Food Bank is supporting many families and we give thanks for the
team’s efforts to provide this.
We thank all who are supporting the many victims of war abroad,
either those in need of food and water or medical attention, and
pray that there will soon be an ending to people’s suffering.
Question How do you deal with the worries that come your way?
Paul’s advice from Philippians 4:6-7:
Don’t worry about anything, instead pray about everything.
Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done.
