BiTS: Yes, right. Tell me something about the new album. Actually, first, before we
do that, I got an album this morning from Greg Coulson, which I haven't had much

chance to listen to yet, but I gather you're playing on a couple of tracks there.

WW: Yeah, I did guest on a couple of songs.

BiTS: Did you go to the studio for that, or was it done at a distance?

WW: It was a live in the
     studio recording. We did it
     at Damon Sawyer’s studio

     in Swindon. Damon passed
     away recently, but yeah, that

     was fun. And Greg played
keys on my record as well.

     BiTS: That's wonderful?

Now tell me about the new
     album, which I think comes
     out in February, doesn't it,
“Blues is still Alive”? Tell me

     about it.

WW: Well, I think it's my
best work to date. When I

set out to write this album, my brief was to make an album of pure blues songs. So
proper 12-bar blues, not sort of reinventing the wheel. But I wanted to attack them

with the same kind of intensity that someone like Walter Trout or Gary Moore would
when recording a blues album. Which, you know, a lot of guitar players have made
records like that, but not so many harmonica players. Harp players tend to play more

in the sort of old school, 50s, Chicago style.

BiTS: Walter Trout seems to have been very effusive about the album already. He’s
     enthusiastic about it.

WW: Yeah. Yeah. Well, so he guested on the title track, which was a dream come
true, really because from the outset, he was one of the main inspirations behind this
record. So to actually have him offer to play on the record, was amazing. Yeah. So I

suppose it's kind of like how Gary Moore or Walter Trout would approach making
a blues record, but the solos are with harmonica rather than guitar.

BiTS: And you've got quite a big tour, I guess. I'm looking at the list. I haven't counted

them, but about 15 gigs coming up to promote the album starting in March.

WW: Yeah. So we're touring round, it's mostly round the South of England in March,
April and May. We've got a couple of festivals as well. Couple of European dates. I'm

still working on getting some dates in the North of England and Scotland and Wales
