then a good teacher teaches you enough for you to teach yourself what you want to
know, mostly, especially in this world of folk music, which I really love. It's wonderful

when you get everything you need to choose your own pathway.

BiTS: If you're listening to music these days, contemporary music I mean, from
current artists, who do you listen to?

JP: Well, I just got through hearing my friends from New Orleans play some fantastic
Italian music at the Brooklyn Folk Festival. They didn't only play Italian music, they
played jazz and all sorts of music. I think they played some jazz tunes in there, so it's

powerful music out there and some powerful players out there. The other one’s my
buddy Frank Fairfield. He's always a pleasure to listen to and talk to, to make sure you
    ain't crazy [chuckles].

BiTS: Now, Jerron, this interview will be transcribed, and it will appear in an edition
of my magazine, Blues in the South. That’s the South of England, incidentally, not the
South of the USA, around about Christmas time, and I was just wondering what

Christmas means to you. Is it a special time for you?

JP: It’s usually time I have off with my family
and get to hang out with them and have a

good party. I get to see my mom multiple
times a year, get see my father multiple times
a year, but Christmas time is when you get to

see everybody – all your cousins and things
and we sit around and eat too much and have
                                                           a ball generally.

BiTS: I have one of the very few in acoustic only shows in this country actually, believe
it or not, acoustic blues radio show, which I've played you on, but do you have a
favourite track on the album that I could play for you as your request?

JP: Well, since you like, ‘What's Gonna Become Of Me’, you should play that one
    probably.

BiTS: Okay, that's absolutely fabulous. I'll do that. Jerron, I won't take any more of

your time. Thank you very much indeed for talking to me and have a wonderful day.

JP: All right, my man. Cheers. Great to meet you.

BiTS: And have a wonderful Christmas as well [chuckles].

    JP: You too. Bye-bye.

    BiTS: Bye.
