BiTS: Tell me something about the new record, which I gather was recorded in some
sort of Dolby format.
ER: Yes, well, this is the new thing that is happening in music. This is the time where
it's just the transition. I don't know if it's going to be a completely full transition to
that or just it's going to be both. Like two different options, you know. But I hear so
much about it and John in Houston, of course, is a lot into that. The changes, the new,
and so he suggested to do it, and I decided, oh, okay. Plus I have experience because
the short film, I wrote a song for that film that at the end of the day, they didn't use
it, but it was my first experience to write a song and do it in Dolby Atmos sound. So
then I decide, okay, the new music that I'm going to record is going to be there too.
And so far, right now, I just have a single. The single that just released a couple of
weeks ago, and I did it on the stereo and Atmos. I just don't know over there where
you are if you already have this kind of equipment for people to listen, the difference,
you know. They said you can
still listen to it, you know. Of
course, this Atmos, you put it
on your stereo, and you have
some kind of certain sound,
but it's not the same but it’s
not the same unless you have
with the specific equipment to
really, really hear the
difference between. The new
cars, a lot of new cars are
going to have that equipment,
so I think it's where it goes. I
just was on the meeting for
the Grammys on Monday, and
they were talking a lot about
the Atmos thing, so it sounds
like a yeah, we’ve got to go
that direction.
BiTS: That's wonderful.
Wonderful. Tell me, is this
going to be part of an album?
You're going to use that for the
first track for an album?
ER: Oh yeah. It's just the first single, but it's going to be part of an album that I'm
still recording. I think it'll be ready, maybe February, once I finish the whole thing.
BiTS: Do you do your own arrangements, Evelyn, or have you got an arranger that
you work with?
