RD: Yeah, it was great. People have a tendency to sing along with our songs, even if they don't
know them because there's certain ones which have very catchy kind of choruses, and by the end
of the song, they're like, oh, we get it. So they were all singing, ‘Don't Let The Bastards Drag You
Down’ with a very Scottish kind of accent and it was quite amazing to hear.
GV: And in a Welsh accent.
RD: Yeah, the Welsh accent too. So it's really fun for us, especially the Americans in the band to
hear.
GV: We have American band members, and we have English band members, which is awesome
and just the way it worked out
for this tour, a lot of the
English members weren't
available. So this tour is
actually mostly the American
band, and then Stephen on
bass who’s English and Robin,
who's kind of split, so it's
going to be a lot of Americans
on this trip, [chuckles] so it'll
be fun.
BiTS: And when do you
actually leave? Just in a couple
of days, I think, isn’t it?
GV: Saturday.
RD: Today is Thursday. Yeah,
so we leave Saturday. We
haven't even started packing
yet.
BiTS: And then you're going,
I think to northern Europe or
somewhere and then back to
the UK again.
RD: Yeah, so with this tour,
this April/May tour is just UK.
GV: California.
RD: Europe is actually later in the year, so we go in October I believe. But we'll be back in July.
We're headlining the Saturday night at Upton Blues Festival, so that'll be fun and doing another
short run of shows in July. Yeah, we're really excited about the tour. We toured a lot in England,
and the reason for that is that there's an audience that is really receptive to outside mainstream
music, and that's kind of hard to find sometimes because it's hard to find those audiences. But
what England has is it has a community of people that just really love live music and they really
love bands that kind of just sit outside the mainstream, that just put on a good live show and
people, really respond to that. We've been lucky that we’ve found that audience and it’s just
because we've been back and forth quite a few times at this point that word’s got around. You
should come and see a show because it's a good fun time.
