Eric Bibb’s connection with Australian audiences runs deep. His concerts -
intimate, passionate and profoundly human - have long been cherished by
fans across the country. This upcoming tour promises to be something truly
special: a chance to hear the new album “One Mississippi”, (release date
January 30th 2026 on Repute records) in all its glory, with the full band
arrangements exactly as they were recorded.
Frank Davidson interviewed Eric Bibb for A Different Shade of Blue on 3WAY
FM in Warrnambool, Victoria.
Frank Davidson: You know, he's been a frequent visitor to Australia, and once again
bringing his unique blend of world music, jazz, blues, folk, and much,
much more to the stage, and
on record as well, too. And I
can say I'm proud as punch to
say g’day once again to the
troubadour blues man himself,
Mr. Eric Bibb , Good day, Eric.
Eric Bibb : Good day, Frank. Nice to
hear from you.
FD: It's nice to have a chat with you, and it
is great news about the 2026 One
Mississippi Tour, but I must ask, when I was
going to grade school, I used to have to spell
Mississippi, Did you ever have to do a spelling
test for Mississippi?
EB: Yes, that kind of M-I-S-S-I-S-S-I-P-P-I thing,
yeah. That was a big part of our grammar lesson
somehow, yeah.
FD: Yeah, funny how things stick with you, but let's
get to a more serious note. Forty albums plus and
counting so far, where does Eric Bibb find the
inspiration for each album?
EB: That's a really good question. I don't think I've ever
really thought about it per se. But if you ask me to kind of
