Annee: I would love to be a full-time musician, however, in New Zealand that is very unlikely. We
do not have the avenues in terms of places to perform as would be available overseas and Blues
music is not a genre that is regularly played on radio here.
My Blues music has been really welcomed overseas but the opportunities here in NZ are very
limited.
I work in Family Domestic Violence and have done so for over 6 years.
BITS: How have you and the band been affected by covid? The authorities in New Zealand seem to have
done a remarkable job.
Annee: As everywhere has, we are now starting to really feel the effects of Covid, especially as
Omicron starts to make its way into our communities.
We have lost some very special music friends overseas and that is very hard to accept.
NZ has done a great job with various strategies. However, Omicron has arrived and will test our
strategies although our numbers are still relatively low. Unfortunately, Covid has meant that
rehearsals have been really restricted and gigs are very sparse.
BiTS: When can we expect the next record? In the studio? Is it written?
Annee: The band is waiting eagerly to start up rehearsals again and we hope this will be some time
soon, but only time will tell with the Covid restrictions.
I am very keen to include, as well, some acoustic blues music as soon as possible. This will be quite
a change from our full band sound. We have some material ready for another album, but again
Covid will dominate and determine when this will happen.
