About ‘Too High a Price to Pay’

1 I'll Play The Blues For You Comfort & Kindness mean a lot to me. Outside of
intelligence-it’s the greatest human quality that we humans process. Far greater
than outward beauty. This song comforts me.

    What the GUYS Thought

Honestly, the guys were so amused by my childlike exuberance that they were
willing to lay this song down even though it was not on my original recording list.
They had to power through two hours of rush-hour traffic just to get to the studio

    — and then two hrs. back. It was worth it.

2 Blue Fire Original Composition: There is Passion inside of everyone. I had to
get on the other side of fear- to be finally free. I want every creative to know they

are more than enough—they are worthy all goodness & greatness. That’s why I
called it searching for Robert Glasper—He records with very famous vocalists. I’m
not obtained the notoriety or status of any of them— but like Musique says, “what
really matters is how I see myself” So, how I see myself is that I am worthy of

consideration and I’d love to record with Robert Glasper one day.

    What the GUYS Thought

One of the cherished compliments during the recording of this is when Rod Cook

who is my lead on guitar & slide said, “I like your music.” Coming from him I just felt
    nothing but joy.

3 Feels Like Rain This song arouses the feminine in me so deeply. It’s simple

eloquence & profound desire. I wondered how it would feel to record this as a
woman…and it felt blissful. Not one of these men are talkers. They are hard core
musicians that speak through their instruments.

    What the GUYS Thought

This is the first take…and they kinda nodded to each other…forgetting they were
listening on headphones, I looked at the Engineer and said, “ahhh that was beautiful!”
I blushed when I realized they all could hear me, and then we all just enjoyed this

wonderful sensual energy and that kinda stayed with me the rest of the day.

4 Last Two Dollars My mother had a gambling addiction. She spend our rent
money, food money, everything, and would come home in tears. I can laugh about

it now, but it wasn’t funny when I was a child. Sometimes she won, most times she
lost. This song reminds me to be careful…it’s something serious that can really
    destroy your life.
