5.7.2 *Other Tools of Assessment are Described Below :

5.7.2.1 Observation Schedule: observation of student’s performance in the class
(participation, answering questions etc.) can also be used effectively
5.7.2.2 Interview Schedule: In order to ensure that further learning has taken
place after conducting an activity and that the students are able to link
new knowledge with what they have learnt in the class, the teacher can
interview each student on the project/ activity. The interview, if conducted
imaginatively, could be very brief but at the same time will give proof of the
student’s own research and presentation.
5.7.2.3 Questionnaires: This could include both, close-ended questions (tick the CHAPTER 5 : CURRICULUM
box) or open-ended questions. There could be pre-class as well as post-
class questionnaires.
5.7.2.4 Quizzes: This could be a group activity led by the teacher. It can also be
learner-led. In fact, the class can be divided into small groups of 3 to 4
students each and the groups can prepare 10 quiz questions each for the
rest of the class to answer in a fun activity.
5.7.2.5 Role Plays: This provides a learner-centered space for students to take up
self as well as peer assessment through role-plays. It helps the students to
explore real-life situations in a supportive ecosystem, develop strategies
for generating understanding of the topic in a creative manner and is also a
fun way of developing communicative skills.
5.7.2.6 Analysis: Analysis of a given text, not taken from the textbook, or of a
newspaper article related to the topic at hand, is a very good tool for
