CHAPTER 5 : CURRICULUM
5.3 Learning Outcomes:
• The learning outcomes act as reference points for teachers, parents, children and
others to understand the learning progress and thus, provide a framework for the
learning progress of children.
• Learning outcomes are declarations that portray significant and essential learning
that has been achieved by learners and that can be reliably demonstrated at the end
of the term. In other words, learning outcomes recognize what the learner knows,
will get to know and can do by the end of a class.
• Learning Outcomes for classes I to VIII have been prepared by NCERT. To help
the teachers understand and achieve the learning outcomes as per the curricular
expectations, some suggestive pedagogical processes are provided in the columns
adjacent to that of learning outcomes.
