We salute Soror Katherine Lucas with 72 Years of membership in Delta Sigma Theta
Sorority. Soror Lucas’ journey began in Gamma Kappa Sigma, now known as Rocky
Mount Alumnae Chapter, in Rocky Mount, NC. After matriculating at Bennett Col-
lege in Greensboro, NC she pursued a career as an English teacher in Nash County
Public Schools. As a member of the Rocky Mount Alumnae Chapter, she has served
as Journalist, Parliamentarian, and Custodian.
As Publicity Chair, Soror Lucas assisted with writing articles for the newspaper and
submitting documents for Regional Awards and competitions.
