❖ A brief overview of the project
Project Title : Development of a demand planning dashboard

Demand Planning information is scattered across multiple
reports (Sales history, SF, Stock etc.) which have to referred and
mapped in excel every month which is a complex &
cumbersome process for Planners to club data.

Objective: To create a decision support system in the form of
dashboard to showcase all relevant information regarding
demand plan & inventory control in a meaningful manner,
reducing the manual task to lead into quick decision making.

Scope of work: Understand current planning process and

❖ How is a normal day at the Internship?

I interned in Pidilite Industries Ltd and was mentored in Demand Planning Division in the Head office. i.e.
Mumbai.

A typical day during internship usually started for me at around 8.00 AM with discussion of the project with my

guide, who is the head of Demand Planning Division of the company. It has hard for my guide to make time for

me throughout the rest of the day because of various meetings like Sales & Operation Planning in which he has

to be a part of, so he usually reserved the first 30-45 mins for me.
The day used to be followed by breakfast with oth er interns. One of the best things about Summer Internship is
that you get to meet students from different B-schools of the country. So spending time with them I get to know

what different projects across different functions are allotted and we sued to brainstorm a lot, it helps in

understanding the business of the company a lot.

After breakfast , I used to reflect on the discussion I had with my guide and work on it.
