❖ What are the challenges faced during Internship?
       • It was my first time on the shop floor, so it became a little difficult for me physically as I has to stand
throughout the day. The heat was another factor.
       • Managing blue collar workers on assembly lines, at times they don’t know the technical terms. They don’t
open up and any approach by an outsider is considered hostile because they think that consultants are there
to cut their jobs(which was true, considering I was working on Manpower optimization).
       • Data collection was another challenge as the production data was maintained on sheets, I had to escalate it
to the plant head to maintain data in excel and it took more than a week to just get the data [Escalation of
employees is not a good approach for a consultant and should be done in extreme case, but for me I had no
choice as the Assembly Lead was not sharing data after multiple reminders and it was delaying my analysis].

       • Middle Management: Dealing with middle management was a big challenge as they started engaging in turf
wars with the PwC team. They wanted to show the work done by PwC team towards their KPIs. Overall, very
          very resistive middle management.

❖ What did you do right and what did you do wrong?
       • I made a lot of mistakes initially as I was a bit overwhelmed. The first deck that I sent out after a week at
client side had a lot of calculation errors/Spelling mistakes primarily because I was making the decks after
work, sometimes till 2 am while I was half asleep. I realised, that this was not going to work and started
making out time in the plant itself for the analysis.
       • There was one time where I had manipulated a data on the suggestion of a senior consultant to fit my
solution and was in the middle of presentation. Me and the senior consultant were having an intense
discussion with the client and the Plant head got up and said lets test it on the line, obviously it did not work
and I had a face-palm moment. NEVER MANIPULATE ANY DATA TO FIT YOUR SOLUTION.
