❖ A brief overview of the project
Interning at Dr Reddy's for 2 months was not less then a
giant rollercoaster ride for me. The amount of industry
exposure I got, especially of Quality control department,
was unmatched. I was given complete freedom to devise
solutions for improvement. The thing I like the most was
that the company took special care of its employees and we,
interns, were not treated any less. What caught my
attention was that every employee was driven towards
same set of values. With equally competing interns from
other bschools and guidance from highly experienced
professionals, I was able to push my limits and deliver on
them. In this process, surely, I was able to pull off a lot of
NIKITA AMBADASKAR
learning across domains.

__________________________________________ ❖ How is a normal day at the Internship?
It would generally start at 9. First half and hour I would plan
GENERAL INFORMATION for the whole day and break it down into 2 buckets. The
things I need others help onto and the things I can do on my
Batch: PGDIM 25 own. Before lunch activities involved clearing all dependent
activities, they use to stretch for whole day but the aim was
BTech: VCET, Mumbai
to complete them on that day itself. Post lunch and after
work I use to work on the collected information. My stay was
very near to my location hence staying late at work was not
an issue.
❖ What are the challenges face during Internship?
Major challenge was to understand and bridge the gap between what the management wanted and what the
shop floor people could do or alter. There were a lot of interdependent activities so altering process in pharma
setup was not easy.
❖ What did you do right and what did you do wrong?
The primary thing which helped me convert the PPO was not giving up on the project and sustaining it all along
till the very end. There were times I so wanted to give up but I kept going a bit further.
One thing which I was doing wrong in the initial days of my internship was self-doubting and thinking I don’t
know much so I cant do much. That was gone once I tried gaining as much information as I could about the
project background.
❖ What are the things to keep in mind in the internship?
Planning your future steps in advance, first you will be clear what to do in a day then a week and then you will
slowly understand how you want the results to look like.
Not giving up till the very end even when your mid review has gone terribly bad, learn from the mistakes and
work on it.
