FROM the ISA COORDINATOR’S DESK

“Teaching should be such that what is offered is perceived as a valuable gift and not as
               hard duty.” Albert Einstein

I felt privileged when I was entrusted with the responsibility of ISA Coordinator. I realized
that donning the role of ISA coordinator was a great challenge but I have always believed that
challenges help us discover who we are and how far we can go. I embarked on the ISA journey
with faith in God and belief in myself. The moral support lent by the Principal, kind cooperation
of teaching and non teaching staff members, parents and love and affection of my dear students
helped me overcome all the hurdles that came our way. The greater the hurdle, the more glory
I experienced in overcoming it. My colleague, Manju Muthaliyar with computer expertise
helped me immensely throughout and ensured a smooth sailing ISA journey for me.

The whole year saw the school buzzing with plethora of activities approved by British Council.
The ISA activities helped to unearth the goldmine of inherent talent in our students. The
different activities nurtured students in the right fashion and enabled them to hone their skills
and made them think outside the box. The ISA activities provided a platform to students right
from nursery to higher secondary section to showcase their creativity, oratory and writing
skills, culinary skills, artistic, dancing and sporting skills through the various competitions held
               for them.

The ISA project infused a thrill and excitement into the classroom teaching. Collaborative
projects with partner schools were a great learning opportunity. It added a global perspective
to both teaching and learning. Access to the internet brought the students globally closer as it
opened windows to other countries and gave them a chance to peep into their cultures. ISA
activities helped us evolve and reinvent ourselves and explore outside the classroom. Sharing
knowledge, skills and experiences with partner schools helped us broaden understanding
around the global themes. The ISA journey was thus creatively fulfilling. It was a journey of
self-discovery and innovation for teachers and students alike.
