Chapter 8: After your apply for PR
If you are outside Canada
When you arrive in Canada, you will need to present a few things, namely:
A valid passport and/or travel doc ument
Your Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR)
Your permanent residence visa (if you received on e)
Proof of funds to support yourself and you r family
Once you arrive, you’ll meet a officer whoCanadian Border Services Agency (CBSA)
will make sure that:
1. You’re entering Canada before or on the date you r COPR expires
2. You’re the same person who was approv ed to travel to Canada (referring to
your Biometrics)
3. Check your passport and/or travel document
4. Ask you a couple of questions to verify you still meet the terms to immigrate
to Canada
In both cases, make sure you have you r passpor t and documents on hand at all
times. Don’t pack them in your luggage, as you may be asked to present them. Also,
if you change your address within 180 days of arriving in Canada, you must not ify
