               Inspirational Innovations in Teaching Students

Kirsti Lonka a university professor of psychology at the University of Helsinki, in her book
Phenomenal Learninig from Finland, states that it has been shown that serving digital
technologies in teaching technologically advanced societies is not damaging to education, but
it is difficult to remain among the best without advanced digitalisation practices. IKT use
becomes an integral part of education and our students. It is a great challenge for a teacher to
find purposeful and appropriate ways to work with information technologies. Learning in this
way acts motivating and contributes to the development of the positive attitudes of the student
according to the subject. Students can show their skills in search of information, critical opinion
and exploration of different perspectives. The students of the Pregrada High School participate
in various projects that connect stimulating learning, theoretical knowledge of the subject and
new technical capabilities during the teaching process. Collaboration and work on projects
encourage competencies, learns how to work together to achieve common goal in a
predetermined time frame, and directs students to understanding their own roles and
responsibilities. The role of teachers is to encourage students to tend to upgrade the results they
achieve in these projects and to manage emotions and challenges on their way to
               professionalization.
This paper will show two projects with videos of students. The first is a third-grade project
called Health Hands to which the outcomes are the application of hygiene and washing,
developing social skills, fellowship and cooperation. The second project is one of the fifth grade
students: Uniforms and nurses through the history, with outcomes of getting to know and
describe the historical moments in which Croatian nursing was created and developing a sense
of belonging to the nursing profession.
An additional value of this way of teaching in comparison to the traditional way is to emphasise
the creativity of students, as well as the use of video works in teaching new generations of
               enrolled students.
