Comment James achieved 21% in his end of year Biology assessment (set 1
and 2 average: 52%). James did not prepare well for this exam and
this result is disappointing. He could have achieved a higher score in
the paper had he spent greater time on his revision of the year 9
content. James has reviewed the paper and completed his
corrections. He has made a list of the key topics he needs to revisit
over the summer to place him in a better position going into Year 11.
Target(s) To further increase his attainment, James needs to:
                                           1. Improve interpretation and understanding of exam-style questions.
This can be done by practising more exam questions, which can be
                                           accessed through Firefly.
                                           2. Use the ‘CORMMSS’ acronym when planning an investigation to
achieve more marks on this type of question.
                                           3. Practise interpreting data and drawing graphs, ensuring axes are
labelled with units and with even intervals.
