AREA REPORTS
This year has been a fairly quiet one as far as organising and holding events in person
is concerned.
It has been pleasing to see many of our BPW LASE members participating in the excel-
lent Zoom events/meetings organised by BPWUK. These include the AGM and the Wednesday
talks. Two of our members who live outside of the UK, Judith Crowe in France and Monique
Lee in California, have both been regular attendees and we have enjoyed seeing them both.
We are particularly proud of Monique’s son Pascal who gave a talk on his work with the NASA
Mars Institute which attracted a large number of listeners. Our member Marina Leal-Freitas is
attending the BPW European Congress in Iceland and we look forward to hearing all about it
later in the year.
News from BPW Billericay:
Several members met for regular lunch meetings during the latter part of 2021. We hope to
resume regular meetings again in the coming months.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all members for your continuing support
and attendance at the national events. It is hoped to organise an Area event this Autumn and
I will send out a request for dates, venues, and topics very soon so I look forward to hearing
from you.■
