17 European BPW Conference in Reykjavik, Iceland.

I had the great privilege of attending the European
Conference on behalf of all the members of BPW UK at
the end of May 2022. We had six members within our
party, from left to right, Jacqui Mcloughlin, Ruth Gal-
wey, (VP International) Marina Leal-Freitas, Yasmin
Knight (VP YBPW UK), President Jo Kinsey, Neelima
Basnet (Past International YBPW VP)

Each of us attended different workshops throughout the weekend, and each mem-
ber will share the things that they learnt from these.
Firstly, it was wonderful to meet BPW colleagues again in person, and not just on
zoom. Not once did I have to mention those words we now know so well, “You are
on mute!”.
I was proud to wear the BPW UK chain of office during the Opening Ceremony,
which was hosted by
Lucie Samcova-Hall Allen, the EU Ambassador to Iceland,

European Co-ordinator Anu Viks and
our International President, Dr Catherine Bosshart

The theme was Equality for All, and over the course
of the next few days we all learnt more about this.
The first conference session was opened by

Katrin Jakobsdóttir, Prime Minister of Iceland.
It was closed by the

First lady of Iceland, Eliza Reid.

Many topflight panellists in between meant long days, but fascinating speakers.
