Yesterday at a rally in Muskegon MI, president Trump jacked up the audience with this opener, “I’d like to speak to you today about...the radical left’s plan to erase American history, purge American values, and destroy the American way of life, and that’s what they’re trying to do, just you wait!”
He continued to demonize Democrats in language that describes his own party precisely, “The Democrat Party you once knew, just no
longer exists, right? This is not the same party. These people are crazy... They crave power. God help us. God help us if they ever get it.”
He interrupted himself with a Trump commercial, taking credit for the new Michigan car plants and factories enabled by his munificence, “We brought your plants back. You didn’t have a factory built for 40 years. Now you have many factories being built, already built. It’s a whole different ball game.” In September, he made an even stronger claim at a rally outside Saginaw, “You better vote for me, I got you so many damn car plants." In fact, not one automobile manufacturing plant has been built in Michigan since the 2016 election.
When the audience started shouting, “We love Trump,” the president erupted into head-swelling bravado, “Everybody’s heard that phrase before. You know why? Because first of all, we’ve made tremendous progress. We’ve rebuilt our courts with more than 300 judges who agree with me on everything. Abortion, voting, freedom of speech, historical monuments, law and order, you name it, they’re with me and they’re with you, my loyal supporters.”
