White House officials reported that President Trump was ready to stop this “stupid reimbursement scheme dead in its tracks,” but AARP vowed that it would dispatch 38 million members to D.C. if he tried.
A spokesperson for the advocacy organization disclosed that no military operation could stop that many senior citizens, so the president should “think twice before acting on his threat or metaphor.”
When Medicare conception reimbursement is added to Social Security restitution, the cost is expected to be stratospheric. According to economist Paul Smith, “I don’t think anyone has the ability to count that high. Certainly, no calculator can. My best guess is to bank on
a combined cost in the neighborhood of an octillion at a minimum, perhaps a nonillion.”
Update
The ACLU of Alabama announced late today that it will mount a legal challenge against the abortion law. ACLU chapters in several other states are lining up to join its action. According to an ACLU official, “The law is heinous. It codifies a barbaric belief that women have no rights and no value except as vessels of reproduction. It asserts that pregnancy is paramount, citing that rape, incest and consensual sex are all acceptable and legal means of impregnating females — women and girls. On a parallel track, the ACLU is supporting two legislative proposals that would make the presence of testosterone, in men in any form, a Class A felony punishable by up to 99 years in prison in the state of Alabama.”
