Using his strength, he broke the dam, causing a great flood. He
then kicked the big boat he had made, which flew and fell,
becoming a mountain north of Bandung, known today as

"Tangkuban Perahu."

This legend attempts to explain the origin of Mount
Tangkuban Perahu. The story contains a moral about the
importance of recognizing one's identity and lineage.
Additionally, the fantastic element in this story is Sangkuriang's
effort to build a dam and a boat overnight.
