SIMPLICITY
Kenya Hara’s products represent clean, uncluttered forms,
avoiding unecessary details. This can allow the products
purpose to beauty, simplicity and non clutter. For example,
MUJI’s household goods use basic geometric shapes to
emphasise usability and timelessness.
HUMAN CENTERED DESIGN
Hara prioritizes ergonomic forms which can then enhance the
users interaction with how they view and use the product. For
example, the MUJI teapot (image on right), is designed with a
perfectly balanced handle and spout to create effortless
usability during pouring process.
CULTURAL CONTEXT
Traditional Japanese design influences his products, often
through the use of natural shapes and forms inspired by
nature.This creates an organic aesthetic aswel as calming.
TRANSPARENCY OF FUNCTION
The form of Hara’s products is tied to their function The designs
by Hara never obscure or become over complicated, ensuring
clarity and ease of use.
