KENYA HARA

Kenya Hara is a well known Japanese designer, curator and
author who is known for his minimalist design philosophy. He is
the art director of MUJI, a Japanese retail company with stores
worldwide. Hara’s work explores traditional Japanese aesthetics

and functionality in the modern world, making him a global
influence in the design world.

DESIGN PRINCIPLES

Kenya Hara’s design principles focuse on minimalism, emptiness
and sensory engagement. Hara believes in creating designs that
are not only simple but profound, which evokes emotional
resonance. He emphasises the importance of functionality,
cultural context and mindfulness. His approach often integrates
traditional japanese aesthetic with modern design.

WHY CHOOSE HARA ?

Kenya Hara’s philosophy aligns perfectly with designing a french
press and grinder. His focus on simplicity yet functionality is
what i also influence my designs off of.
