While this is a standard approach for technical drafting there is a level of
flexibility afforded to sketching styles. Using the same structural
approach, other fonts can help develop a personal style. A typeface
commonly used by designers is Sergeo Print, as it closely emulates a
hand script style.

Be aware of the direction of the notation. Creating a lined underlay is an
option that allows the individual to write in the correct manner. Create a
lined A3 page that can be inserted into the sketchbook and used when Fig 4.4 Title Block Contents
needed. Poor spelling is something that will undermine professionalism
(if unsure, double check). For presentation develop text on a computer,
run a spell check and print it off in an appropriate font size. This can then
be used as a template for the final sheet. It is recommended that all
learners purchase a good quality dictionary/thesaurus in order to
develop vocabulary.
4.2 Titling Sketchwork
It is essential when sketching to record the details of the project on every
sheet. The information contained in this title bar includes; name/initials,
project code/title, sheet focus, sheet number and date. The title block is
commonly positioned in the bottom right corner of a sketch sheet. Again
the development of a title block template will help achieve consistency
every time a new sheet is started.
