Pop art, Op art, Conceptual art and Minimalism
So, it’s all came down to the pop art, years after the II world war in 1950s pop art developed and
in this artist were amazed by the popular culture and just how it reflected on the riches in post-
war
society. America was the first known with the art but after it rapidly spread to Britain as well. We
have some of the examples of the movement’s that turned everything so amazing, the can of
soup,
and may more products. Some of the pop arts that was in associated with all of this was Robert
Rauschenberg, Jasper johns and Richard Hamilton. They used objects like bottles of beers and
flags
for their paintings while the other artist used images from the magazines. Andy Warhol was the first
men to bring pop art into the public life’s, the first exhibition of the work took place at the Hugo
Gallery in the 1952 he showed 15 designs based on the writing Truman Capote. Andy started to
produce artwork in 1960s and this product wore the Campbell’s soup can and the Coca-Cola bottles.
As this bought him to start produce silkscreens of famous peoplelike Marlin Monroe, Troy Donahue
e
and Elvis Presley, this is some of the people that influence the pop art, Andy Warhol 1928-1987, h
was an American artist, Richard Hamilton 1922-2011 an English painter and a collage artist, Roy
Lichtenstein 1923-1997 also an American pop artist. Robert Rauschenberg 1925-2008 American
artist painter and graphic artist, David Hockey 1937-present he is an English painter, stage designer
photographer and printmaker. Jeff Koons 1955-present also an American artist, Claes Oldenburg
1929 lives still and he is an American sculptor, last of list we have Tom Wesselmann who is also an
American painter 1931 to 2004. Not forget in this we had Op art this was a small movement after
the 1960s who overlapped with Pop art, as an example the Op art was a shortcut for Optical Art.
The
term was used to describe some of the work they did as sculptures, paintings and many more
artworks that looked vibrant, this was to achieve the optical effects. The Op art is a form of
abstract
art and it is closely connected with the constructive movement, it was well known in the Europe
and
the USA at the same time as pop art in the 1960s and 1970s. not forget that the museum of Modern
Art in New York had an exhibition in the 1965 this was called “The Responsive Eye” after which Op
art became a household name for styles in fashion design world. We also had the Conceptual art and
the Minimalism art, the Conceptual art in the 1960s and 1970s also a movement in which artists
emphasizes ideas over the object and attempted to free art from the confines of the gallery at the
pedestal. The Minimalism art started before in the 1950s and continued throughout sixties and
seventies, in that time movements artists used simplicity in content and form of their painting also
sculptures, all the movements related to each other in same way as they all happened at the same
time. And not forgetting that they also tried not to express themselves in the work. As in Pop art Op
Art Conceptual art and Minimalism art they had is main people and this wore Bridget Riley
1931present an English painter, Heinz Mack 1931 present and he is a German artist, Victor Vasarely
