            Competitive Analysis

                       Services and Training

Various animal organisations in Ireland provide a range of services for both
the animals and their potential owners. The Irish Society for the Prevention of
Cruelty to Animals (ISPCA) for example, offers education and training services
for responsible pet ownership along with the adoption process (ISPCA, 2023).
Dog’s Trust also provides workshops to help owners integrate their new
pets into their homes with ease. Additionally, the Cat Welfare Society provide
guidance on cat care and behaviour for adopters (Cat Welfare Society, 2023).

Each organisation contributes to the welfare of animals and the support needed

for pet owners, but that does not apply to every single organisation. Although,
many animal organisations do promote community engagement through
training programs and events that educate owners about animal behaviour.

                       Adoption Procedures

Adoption procedures vary from shelter to shelter but mostly conduct quite
common practices such as meet-and-greets, home-checks, and adoption fees,
usually ranging between €70-€120 for cats and €80-€200 for dogs, which
usually cover the costs of vaccinations, microchipping, spaying/neutering,
and sometimes a starter pack of supplies. These fees also help support the
organisations and the ongoing care and support of other rescue animals.
