Target 2 sorors were busy for Pink Goes Red for Heart Health. They started
the morning with collecting contributions for the American Heart Association.
Next, the healthcare team along with the North Alabama Nurse's Association
conducted over sixty free blood pressure checks. To complete the day, healthy
smoothies were prepared and given to the sorors as they left sorority meeting.

EGO’s Target 2 Care for the Caregivers’ subcommittee, places emphasis on taking care of
those who take care of others. The Caregivers’ subcommittee collaborated with Top of Alabama
Regional Council of Governments (TARCOG) to support grandparent caregivers, an often-
forgotten group of caregivers. TARCOG is a One Stop Shop for aging services, and the agency
provides resources that support the needs of family caregivers. The financial responsibility of
raising multiple school aged children can often cause stress for grandparent caregivers. Target
2 collaborated with the local District 6 Community Closet to obtain donated school supplies
and backpacks to support a great start for the second semester of school. Additional supplies
were donated by a committee member. EGO committee members met on January 27th to
deliver bundles of supplies to TARCOG. The committee donated over 600 individual items
(notebooks, calculators, binders, crayons, pencils, markers, ink pens, glue sticks, construction
paper, and backpacks) to support all age groups of children. The school supplies will help
students put their best foot forward as they begin the new year.
