the committees are on the move. The Steering Committee has met and one of the Debutante Sponsor
          Workshops has been

conducted. Please contact your “Prospective Debutante” and invite her to submit her paperwork for the 2017-
          18 Debutante Program.

The membership and technology committees have been extremely busy with the sponsor eligibility for sorors
who wish to serve as a sponsor or co-sponsor of a prospective MIP candidate. Soror Tonya Wood, Membership
Committee Chairman and Soror Lorraine Lacy, Technology Committee Chairman have worked diligently with
their committees to move us forward in a timely manner to ensure we conduct an outstanding MIP. There is
still much to be done before submitting the packet to the Regional Director to request permission for Epsilon
Gamma Omega Chapter to conduct a Membership Intake Process (MIP).

We will conduct our first chapter retreat since
approximately ten years. The retreat will be held on
                                                                               th
Saturday, August 12 at First Missionary Baptist Church
                                                           from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The “Sister 2 Sister” sub-
committee of the Membership committee in collaboration
with the “Sisterly Relations Committee” have planned an
educational, enrichening and exciting morning of events for us. They will include
teambuilding, leadership and sisterly relations; all filled with lots of fun. The
theme for the Retreat is “Refresh, Renew, Reinvigorate!”

In January 2015, the beginning of the current chapter administration. I
presented the idea of our chapter operations moving in sync, the same as a
clock is calibrated to move. Because of our diligent and purposeful work
(Productivity), our “AKA-EGO” clock continues to tick in sync with the
“New Dimensions of Service and Leadership”. The chapter retreat will
provide us with tools to help our “AKA-EGO” clock continue to tick in sync.
Don’t miss this opportunity to continue your Alpha Kappa Alpha lifelong
learning through engagement with your sorors.

          Sisterly,

          Soror Wilma J. Ruffin
