Childhood Hunger Awareness
Community Impact Day
In observance of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated’s
Childhood Hunger Awareness Community Impact Day, Sorors of
Epsilon Gamma Omega’s Target III: Childhood Hunger Sub-
Committee held EGO’s first “Alpha Kandied Alpha Fall Festival” on
Sunday, October 16, 2016. The event was held in collaboration with
Gamma Mu and Omicron Zeta Undergraduate Chapters, Target III’s
Financial Fitness Sub-Committee, Target IV, Connections and Sisterly
Relations Committees. The festival took place at the James A. Lane
Boys and Girls Club where Soror Liz Clemons is the Director. Hot dogs,
hamburgers, candied apples, cotton candy, popcorn, and candy were all on hand for the over 200 children and
adults in attendance. Activities included games, inflatable bounce house and face painting. While the children
were having fun playing games, getting their faces painted and running around in the playground, parents were
attending the financial fitness workshop and registering to vote. As the time passed by and we started winding
down by beginning our clean-up, we culminated the event with the costume contest…and the winners were
given cash prizes.
