~ Mr. Rodney and Mrs. Jami Thomas ~

My husband Carlton Whatley and I asked the Thomases to be in the Tajiri family, and they consented. They immediately came on

board as Carl and I entered retirement due to unfortunate circumstances. Mrs. Thomas stepped in as the Executive Director and did
an excellent job. She kept the facility well-maintained and always made sure it was decorated in a historical manner. Each room was

themed to reflect its purpose, and the appropriate atmosphere was created from the performing arts to museum status.

Mrs. Thomas is a gifted actress, and she re-enacted many dramatic presentations that were a part of our Sanford Out of the Dust:

Ancestorial Path to Dignity Tour. She also hosted the Florida African American Network, many schools in Seminole County, and

Tajiri’s Twenty-Year Celebration of Community Service. Mr. Thomas, an expert painter and construction contractor, built a
wonderful stage at Tajiri and painted the interior of the facility to enhance the theater concept.

Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas for your commitment and dedication to Tajiri Arts School and Museum!
