in Orlando, Florida. Her teachings inspired me to write this book and to embrace my family’s history as well as the African-American
history of my hometown of Sanford, Florida.

Through Mrs. Flewellyn’s influence, Mr. Thomas Flewellyn initially served as our Business Manager in Networking Affairs. He also
served as an excellent Executive Director of Tajiri Arts. He superbly orchestrated a partnership with Walt Disney World through their

Costume Department in-kind services of tents and chairs when needed for events on the campus of Tajiri Arts. We were also blessed

to receive grant funding for the operation of our classroom programs, which covered instructional supplies and field trips. Mr.
Flewellyn held wonderful, well-structured workshops at Disney to enhance our knowledge of Strategic Planning for fundraisers and

management operations. When we opened our doors at 519 Palmetto Avenue on October 6, 1996, our costumes looked fabulous at

our Ribbon Cutting Ceremony because of Mr. Thomas Flewellyn.

The Flewellyn’s daughter, Toya Flewellyn, provided Tajiri with expert photography through her business EyeSee Images. Their
younger daughter, Tina Flewellyn won state and national dance competitions while at Tajiri. She even became a Ballet Instructor at

Tajiri, which later led to her serving as Director and Choreographer of a performing arts company in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I thank

each member of the Flewellyn family for their notable and much appreciated contributions to the excellence of Tajiri Arts.

~ Mrs. Joe Ann McClandon and Mrs. Carol Buford ~

Joe Ann McClandon and Carol Buford were Board Members and the Number One Financial Contributors of their personal funds.

They were placed on the Tajiri Arts Platinum Level Wall of Fame. It was Queen Mother Joe Ann who introduced her family to Tajiri
when she moved to Heathrow-Lake Mary from Chicago. When she read about the program in the newspaper, she immediately

            enrolled her grandchildren.
