"...1 have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."
God is NOT natural and if He indwells us we are no longer natural. Read how this
powerful truth is presented in Romans 8:11...
"But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who
raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His
Spirit who dwells in you."
The ruler of this world (satan) seeks to steal, kill and destroy, but our Lord and
Savior came to give us life and that more abundantly. We live in a world ruled by
one who desires to see nothing but harm come to us. How then are we to arrive at
the overcoming "abundant life" Jesus died for? The deeper more penetrating
question, I believe, is once we find the "abundant life" (salvation through God's
mercy and grace) how do we grow in it and continue to bear its' fruit (the process
of sanctification, being molded into a disciple)? That is the question that must
shape the true disciple's life and ministry.
Let's continue our life-changing journey from reality to truth...
In John 8:23 we are told by Jesus Himself...
"I am not of this world."
In John 18:36 He speaks about His Kingdom...
"Jesus answered, my kingdom is not of this world... "
Rev. 19:16 identifies Jesus clearly...
"And He (Jesus) has on His robe and on His thigh a name written:
KING of KINGS and LORD of LORDS."
So the King and His Kingdom are NOT of this world, a world ruled by the
adversary. That has been made clear. So the King and His Kingdom have rules
unlike those of this world.
How do we come to KNOW the King?
What then describes the Kingdom He rules over and we are a part of?
What are the rules we are expected to follow as members of this Kingdom?
What are we to understand about our place and responsibilities in His
Kingdom?
