Remember at the beginning of this chapter I stated that Jesus calls His disciples
to submit to a process. A process is a "set of actions or changes in a special
order." The process of being changed into a disciple is one that demands change
over time. It requires that the disciple to follow a "fixed" schedule or pattern, in a
particular sequence. All of this takes time. Remember Jesus spent three (3) years
with his men; Moses spent forty (40) years being prepared to lead God's chosen
children, the nation of Israel. Discipleship in its simplest form describes the
process by which one matures and grows in Christ. The discipleship process will
only end when Jesus Himself comes to reclaim His bride... until then, you will
continue to mature and grow in your understanding and desire to serve the King of
All, the Son of the One true and eternal God, Jesus Christ.
