A robot that will deal with metal recycling has

        been developed in Perm

According to the press service of the Perm
Polytechnic, the robot is able to carry out work 30-
40% faster than people, and its working radius will
increase by 200-300%, the thickness of the metal for
        processing will reach 10 cm.
The metal can be recycled over and over again
without degrading its properties. Scrap metal has
value, which encourages people to collect it for sale in
        recycling plants.
Recycling metals allows us to conserve natural
resources while requiring less energy to process than
making new products using primary raw materials.
Due to the fact that today people are engaged
in the disposal of metal, and this is a dangerous
job for life and health, the Perm Polytech has
developed a robot that will process large scrap
        metal using a plasma torch.
               A technical device (plasmatron) built
into the robot, in which a plasma is formed
when an electric current flows through the discharge gap, can be used for processing materials
        or disposing of metal.
"Steel and iron are the most recycled materials in the world, in part because of the
recoverability of large structures and the ease of recycling. The use of a plasma torch in the
sorting process allows processors to easily separate them from the mixed waste stream", the
        scientists said.
                                                                                                                kursk.com
