Polymetal reveals a new ore
body at the Lunnoye deposit
May 26, 2021, NEDRADV. Geologists of the Magadan
branch of Polymetal discovered a new ore body during additional
exploration at the Lunnoye gold-silver deposit in the Omsukchan
District of the Magadan Region. According to preliminary data,
the length of the ore body exceeds 55 meters (to date, the ore
body is not delineated along the strike), the average thickness
is 3 meters. As NEDRADV was informed in the press service
of the company, the peculiarity of the revealed structure is
the occurrence parameters uncharacteristic for the ores of
the Lunnoye deposit. The company's specialists note that the
identification of such ore bodies provides grounds for revising
the geological exploration program at the deposit. In addition,
in 2020 at the Lunnoye deposit, during additional exploration
in the ninth ore zone, three ore bodies with a high gold content
were discovered.

The Lunnoye deposit is operated by Polymetal JSC - Magadan
Silver JSC. The facility is located on the territory of the
Omsukchan urban district of the Magadan region. As of
January 1, 2021, Lunnoye reserves are 38 thousand ounces
of gold and 9,273 thousand ounces of silver. In total, 13 ore
zones have been identified in the ore field, of which four are
with industrial mineralization. Ore Zone 9 contains 81% of
the silver reserves. Most of the reserves are concentrated in
ore pillars. The length of the ore bodies varies from 120 to
800 m, the thickness is from 1.5 to 12 m, and the vertical
range of mineralization is from 40 to 350 m
