SECTION 7—SEPARATION FROM EMPLOYMENT
7.1 RESIGNATION, TERMINATION, LAYOFF, AND RETIREMENT
Termination of employment is an inevitable part of personnel activity within any organization and many of the reasons for
termination are routine. Below are examples of some of the most common circumstances under which employment is
terminated:
• Resignation: It is a voluntary employment termination initiated by an employee. Although advance notice is not
required, A-MAX Auto Insurance requests two weeks written resignation from all employees.
• Termination: Employment with A-MAX Auto Insurance is at will. Therefore, A-MAX Auto Insurance has the right to
terminate the employee with or without cause and with or without advance notice.
• Layoff: Involuntary employment termination initiated by the organization because of an organizational change.
• Retirement: Voluntary employment termination initiated by the employee meeting age, length of service, and any
other criteria for retirement from the organization.
7.2 RETURN OF COMPANY PROPERTY
Employees are responsible for all A-MAX Auto Insurance property, materials, or written information issued to them or in
their possession or control. Employees must return all Company property immediately in the event of termination,
resignation, layoff or leave of absence. Where permitted by applicable laws, A-MAX Insurance may withhold from the
employee’s check or final paycheck the cost of any items that are not returned (or not returned in acceptable condition)
when required. A-MAX Insurance may also take all action deemed appropriate to recover or protect its property.
