Language is the dress of thought. It is the expression of life, emotions and aspirations. When we are born the
only language that we know and understand is ‘smile’ and ‘cry’. As we grow up we imitate the people around
us and hence begin to learn the language.
Language is our primary source of communication. It's the method through which we share our ideas and
thoughts with others. Some people even say that language is what separates us from animals and makes us
human.
There are thousands of languages in this world. Some languages are spoken by millions of people, others by
only a few thousand. English has been considered to be the first globally accepted language.
India is a land of diverse cultures and languages. Despite Hindi being the most common language, English

has become more important and popular language nowadays. It is used almost everywhere and therefore it
has become the need of the hour to be good in English. Wilhelm von Humboldt has rightly said that,
"Language is the infinite use of finite means". In today’s modern world the English language has become a
part and parcel of every existing field. It has been an international language of communication, business,
science, information technology, entertainment and so on. Earlier everyone was considered to be literate by
their degrees and diplomas, but the knowledge of English language makes an individual literate in today’s
world .It is critical to learn English if you don’t want to miss out.
