Why Commerce…..?
'The best way to predict the future is to create it'
Career planning could be defined as the means through which we can achieve our objectives & move
closer to our goals .It's not what you achieve, it's what you overcome, that's what defines your career. One
of the most promising field one can opt is 'Commerce.'
The commerce stream after the completion of class 10 is quite a popular choice in India. As most of the
students feel that the stream offers them a wide arena of career options to pursue which would bring both
success and financial security easily. It is a myth that commerce is only all about money but on the
contrary it is about figuring out how business works, how to manage company and personnel, keeping a
track on stock market etc. Students studying under this stream have a thoughtful outlook on the outside
world. Commerce has lot of difficult challenges and practical facts added to it .Most of the students
opt commerce because they want to take the next step in business and follow strategies to become a
successful entrepreneur. Due to the popularity of commerce among the students many institutions offer
excellent career opportunities. This stream is a very promising field if someone wants to make a career in
it. Commerce has a sea of options and opportunities for those who want to make their career and achieve
their goals in life. Commerce students have an intellectual look towards the outside world. So once you
choose commerce you can even go for BMS, BBI, BBA, BAF, B.Com, M.Com, MBA, Finance, Marketing ,
Banking , LLB, Teaching and many more.
As we have a number options in commerce the opportunity also widens and can excel in chartered
accountancy, investment, banking, insurance, stock market etc. We can rightly say that commerce is
indeed an interesting subject with a bright future. So if you think commerce is your forte just don't think
over again and again just go for it and you are set .To conclude with I would like to say
'Only as high as I reach, can I grow,
Ms. Jennifer D’cruz Only as far as I seek ,can I go ,
- Faculty Only as deep as I look, can I see,
