ZOOM The tag end is the short length of the working
end that extends beyond the knot after the
knot is tightened. It is clipped off by fly fisher-
men to add more realism to the action of the
fly.

Tie the working end into an overhand knot Bring the hook through both loops so the knot HooK & taCKLe Knots
(see page 18) that encircles both loops. can be tightened against the shank. Trim off
the tag end.
